UPDATE - April 2021

Referendum on the adoption of the Hellingly Neighbourhood Plan

1. A Referendum will be held on Thursday 6 May 2021 to decide on the question below:
Question - Do you want Wealden District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Hellingly to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?

2. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Elections Office, Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, BN27 2AX by midnight on Monday 19 April 2021. Applications may be made online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. If you are already on the Electoral Register then you do not need to apply, you can vote as normal.

3. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Elections Office, Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 2AX by 5 pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021

4. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Elections Office, Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 2AX by 5 pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021.

5. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Elections Office, Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 2AX by 5 pm on Thursday, 6 May 2021. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5 pm on Wednesday, 27 April 2021. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5 pm on Wednesday, 27 April 2021.                                                           (Trevor Scott - Returning Officer)

UPDATE - January 2020

Following the publication of the Local Plan Inspector’s Stage 1 letter just before Christmas, the examination of the neighbourhood plan is proceeding and you can read the Additional Comments of the Independent Examiner (click here) which sets out how the examination will proceed and the matters to be dealt with at the public hearing.
