Hailsham Volunteer Hub
Opened earlier this year, the Hailsham Volunteer Hub is a Hailsham Foodbank project and shares premises with the Foodbank in Market Square, Hailsham.
It was set up to match volunteers in our community with community and charity organisations that need support.
The stereotypical image of volunteering as working in a charity shop or being something you do when you retire certainly isn’t the case any more - our local schools and also universities are becoming more involved as they realise that the experience gained is valuable for both a sense of community involvement and for CVs! Volunteering roles are also very diverse - from studio support at the local radio, to accompanying a blind person to the theatre, to volunteering with your dog.... our area has lots of opportunities from an hour a year to full time.
The Hailsham Volunteer Hub doesn’t just cover Hailsham though! It encompasses Hellingly, Horam, Herstmonceux and Polegate (and all the areas in between!)
If you want to volunteer or run an organisation locally that needs volunteers, pop in to the hub on Tuesdays 10-12 or Thursdays 1-3 and Nicky or Julie will be happy to chat with you.
